"When is it going to stop?" This coming from an Englishman about rain! The man on the boat anchored behind us had poked out his head (and large body too) onto his fordeck during a lull in the weather and was staring at the blank, grey cloud in the valley to windward. Janet was washing her hair in the bath tub floating behind us that used to serve a dinghy. 3 days ago we were rained on because of a tropical storm passing over the Malay isthmus. There was no wind worth mentioning but lots of rain. "Very unsual weather for this area". Is this another, tropical storm or just a seasonal shower?

Janet has 2 more days on Harmonica before flying to the "jungles of Burma" now the country of Myanmar as it is now called. She will meet her Calgary friend for a land-based exploration. Doug & Fran are in Cambodia after a visit here and will soon be back in Calgary. Dave will stay close by Harmonica in either Malaysia or Thailand.

We had a yacht broker on board yesterday to give us his thoughts about selling Harmonca. That would be difficult for us after 46,000 miles and 40 or 50 countries, and we are not sure whether our sailing days are over, but if we continue it will likely be with two hulls rather than one, so that we roll less at anchor. If any of you out there know of somebody wanting to buy a fully equipped ocean-voyaging kelly-peterson 44, please let us know at .

We, Jan & Dave, will meet again in early December and fly back to Calgary for Christmas. Then by early in 2011, we shall either have no boat, or we shall sail away from SE Asia. We love the sights and the people of this part of the world, but it is too hot & humid for us to get anything done here. Note however that the Thai painters used to work full days inside the boat through the heat of the day. Dave used to work inside before 7 or after 5.30, but when he had to stay more than an hour in the middle of the day, he was ready to faint.

We still have a pet gechco aboard. He is a cute little fellow who appears very occassionally but gives us a cheery noise most evenings, does a great job keeping the insects down.

Love from us both

Jan & Dave on Harmonica
